OpenAI CEO aims to raise $100M for his crypto startup

According to three sources, the head and co-founder of OpenAI, Sam Altman, is in talks to raise about $100 million in investments for his Worldcoin crypto startup, which is scheduled to launch in the coming weeks. In the new round, investments can attract both old and new investors. Previous Worldcoin investors have included venture capital firm Khosla Ventures, crypto fund Andreessen Horowitz, Reid Hoffman, and Sam Bankman-Fried. While OpenAI has become known for its products such as the ChatGPT chatbot and the DALL-E generative neural network, Worldcoin, founded by Altman and Alex Blania in 2019, has big ambitions, although it is still less known to the general public.
