Renault partners with startup to build electric vehicles of the future

Renault has announced a long-term partnership with French startup Verkor, which will supply electric batteries with a total capacity of 12 GWh per year for Renault Alpine and other models. The partnership will help Renault secure value chain control for its Ampere division, which plans to launch by the end of the year. As part of this collaboration, Verkor will produce batteries for Renault and Alpine premium models at its Dunkirk plant in northern France. The first vehicle to feature Verkor batteries will be the Alpine C-Crossover GT, which will enter production in 2025. Renault's investment in the startup began in 2021.
