The share of the euro in SWIFT settlements fell to a minimum since March 2020


The share of the euro in international settlements through the SWIFT interbank system in June amounted to 31.25%, having fallen to a minimum since March 2020, RIA Novosti found out based on system data.


In the first summer month, the "European" lost 0.45 percentage points - in May, its share in international settlements was 31.7%. The system reported a lower value compared to June of this year at the end of March 2020 - then it was 30.84%.


The share of the dollar also decreased compared to May: in June it reached 42.02%, down 0.58 percentage points.


On the other hand, the yuan strengthened its positions quite confidently: its share in international settlements via SWIFT in June amounted to 2.77%, reaching its maximum value since the beginning of last year. Over the month, the indicator rose by 0.23 percentage points.


The share of the British pound also grew - over the month, the indicator rose by 0.41 percentage points and amounted to 6.88%. According to the system's reporting, this is the highest value since November.
